Next year, off to climb mountains on my 130th birthday!

Remember, workouts and challenges will only be posted on Mondays from here on out. Don't forget to come to the Y on Wednesdays for Small Group Training!

Here is this weeks workout:

Equipment: Dumbbells (medium-heavy). Box.
4 rounds, reps increase each round.

Dumbbell Squats - 5/10/15/20 reps
Box jump burpees - 5/10/15/20 reps
Wall supported hand stand (or high plank) - 15/20/30/45 seconds

Since we messed up our post last Wednesday. We are re posting this workout. The AX BUSTER! Also, please note that we will only be posting one workout a week on Mondays. It may be a workout or it could be a challenge or update of some sort. If you are interested in a weekly program or personal training please email Christine for further inquires. Now get ready to get BUSTED!

Equipment: dumbbells or barbell (medium to heavy)
4-5 rounds

10 Rows

15 Push presses

40 Sit ups

50 Bodyweight squats

At the studio, we always did these with a 25lb plate, which can be tough if you are not yet at that strength level. Some people can use 35lbs. One can use a 10lb plate if you are new to this but most people don't have plates between 10lbs and 25lbs. This is one reason why our AX Community was a buff group. A dumbbell can be substituted if necessary.

Wednesday Workout #7: Plate Power

Perform 5 minute dynamic warm up prior to workout.

Equipment: One plate, 10-35lbs.

10-15 reps of each exercise
1 minute cardio in between rounds
3-4 rounds

Wall sit with chest press
Wood chopper / 10-15 each side
Pick up, table and overhead press
Leg lifts with plate press
Sumo squats
Drop and catch / 10-15 each side
Plank drag through / 10-15 each side
High knees with plate overhead  - 1 min (modification: 30-45 seconds)

2018 The Trainer is back!

That's right! I am back!  The heart of our AX Fitness community is still beating and I want to make sure that continues. What does that mean? It means that if you follow this blog, every week I will give you a workout or workouts, tips, advice, invite you to local social gatherings and a little bit of that sass you love to hate. We will check in with former members, people I work with at the YMCA and put together a team that will engage in some local races and social events.
